The Veale-AllBlax LogMAR reading card is to be used at 35cm (14 inches) from the eyes.
This reading card is designed with LogMAR letter sizing starting at 1.6 through to 0.0 in 0.1 steps. There are 16 lines in total with Snellen Notation equivalent point size numbers alongside each LogMAR number for easy referencing.

Large Occluding Glasses

Rees Fairbanks facial gauge

The Rees-Fairbanks Facial Gauge has been designed to facilitate the selection, specification and final fitting of spectacle frames and mountings. It was originally developed at City University with the teaching of ophthalmic dispensing in mind. Scales have been graduated in units that correspond with the accuracy required or attainable. The minimum graduation is in 2mm separations and the maximum is 5mm, this being sufficiently accurate for assessment of the head width.

Back Vertex Distance (BVD) Calliper and calculator Set
The Eyeline Back Vertex Distance (BVD) Gauge is an accurate low-cost device for measuring the distance between the back of a lens to the cornea in mm. The set comes with a pouch and calculator. The instructions for plus and minus powers are printed on the reverse side of the calculator. The gauge and calculator can be purchased separately i.e. one calculator and several gauges.
This measurement is very important when deciding on the lens power especially in swimming/ski goggles when the lenses are in the frame will more than 10/12 mm from the cornea, or when the lens powers are greater than ±6D
The advantage of this gauge is once the measurement is made, the distance set on the scale does not move when the measurement is completed. It also compensates for 1 mm to account for the eyelid thickness.
